U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) today released the following statement on the D.C. Court of Appeals decision in Verizon v. Federal Communications Commission striking down the FCC's efforts to require "net neutrality:"

"I support today's decision by the D.C. Court of Appeals ruling that the FCC overstepped its authority in its attempt to regulate the Internet with so-called "net neutrality' principles through anti-blocking and anti-discrimination rules. I have long opposed efforts that would allow the government to regulate the Internet, and today's decision is a win for consumers and broadband innovation. This decision also sends a strong message to federal agencies that may attempt to direct by regulation that which is not authorized by Congress."
